About Us
In recent years we have witnessed that the field of skeletal biology and medicine has bloomed in Israel. To this end there is a dire need for a society which will facilitate scientific connections and networking activities to educate and promote excellence within these expanding fields. Current research actively conducted within this field includes biomechanics, cell biology, stem cells, epigenetics, molecular biology, dentistry, developmental biology, endocrinology, epidemiology, skeletal immunology, bone metabolism, orthopedics, rheumatology, pathology, pharmacology and physiology. A better understanding of the fundamental processes in skeletal biology will no doubt result in identification of novel clinical and therapeutic approaches to tackle the various pathology associated with bone, cartilage, tendons and ligaments, all of which work in concert to facilitate an active life.
As indicated above, the unique activities of ISSBM encompass both clinical and basic research, which is reflected by the society's steering committee;
